  GIS (Geographic Information Systems)

Having accurate maps of a property is very important in not only assisting employees and visitors in traversing your land, but in also managing the land itself. Llano Fire Management, Inc. can generate high quality maps of all varieties and sizes for landowners. Examples of recommended maps include:

  • Aerial photographs with roads, fences, buildings, tanks, windmills, hunting blinds and other structures identified. Aerial photographs are typically more user friendly than topographic maps detailing the same structures.

  • Topographic maps detailing roads, tanks and hunting blinds, etc. These maps assist landowners in establishing low maintenance road location decisions, appropriate locations for tanks and even hunting blind locations that prevent hunters from accidentally endangering other hunters in other blinds.

  • Detailed soil maps. These maps can identify all the different soils present on a property or all of the different range types. Soils types drive what kind of vegetation a piece of land can sustain, what type of water permeability and area has and danger to erosion of roadways.

  • Fire Management Units, Grazing Management Units, Wildlife Management Units

  • Time lapse aerial photography. When available, aerial photography from several years, or even decades, can be compiled to visually track land cover changes over time.
Cutting edge GPS equipment and software allow Llano Fire Management, Inc. the ability to produce high quality maps landowners can use in the field or hang in the ranch house.
